November 14: Operation Christmas Child!
Bring a shoebox! Build a shoebox! Send a shoebox!
This is a great time to think about children around the world who will  not be getting Christmas gifts and THEN DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

Join us at 7 pm. at Gateway. Bring a shoebox, small gift items to fill a shoebox for a child and $7 to ship the shoebox to a needy child somewhere in the world.

Registration is Tuesday July 17 from 1-3 or 7 to 9 pm.

Spanish 1 has been added to the 10:00 time slot.  After the 17th we will know if we have met the minimum and reached the maximum on individual classes.   If you are interested in a virtual class please let me know.  

Summer classes still have openings.    Grade 8-12 writing intensive starts Monday the 16th at 9:00.    Speech boot camp starts the 23rd at 9 and middle school writing at 1pm.

Summer Classes at Gateway

High School Writing Intensive (grades 8-12)
July 16-20 from 9-12
$55 plus $10 materials fee 
Take away the fear of writing and give your child valuable keys for success!  This high school level course provides an introduction to Writing based on the Student Writing Intensive by Institute for Excellence in Writing. Students will be required to complete a writing assignment each night to be used in class the next day.
(Great introduction to the Excellence in Writing program that we will use for the senior high at Gateway next year or just to improve writing.)

High School Speech (grades 9-12) 
July 23-27  from 9 am to 12 pm
$55 plus $10 materials fee
Based off of "Speech Boot Camp" by Institute for Excellence in Writing.   Includes:  impromptu, introductory, narrative, descriptive, and persuasive speeches... plus more.    (Students will be required to prepare speeches at home each night to present the next day.)


Jr. High Writing Camp  (grades 5-8)
July 23-27  from 1-3:30
$55 plus $10 materials fee

Students will be required to complete a writing assignment each night to be used in class the next day.

Note:  Registration fees are non-refundable except In the even that minimum registration is not met or class exceeds maximum you will be notified and registration refunded for that class.  Parents are responsible for text books, initial material/lab fees, and miscellaneous expenses not covered by registration including field trip expenses. Throughout the year we ask families to contribute paper goods such as reams of paper, paper towels, and toilet paper to help keep costs down.

We will also have classes available through Florida Virtual School.  These classes are graded by Gateway teachers and can be individualized to meet each student's needs, which greatly reduces the cost.  If interested please let me know.

2012-2013 upcoming year

Gateway Homeschool Network is seeking teachers for next years program for grades 6-8 and 9-12. We are also looking for parents who would be interested in enrichment opportunities for grades K - 6, which can be 4 to 6 week session or special events like parties and field trips.

Those parents teaching a class will receive discounted tuition for the year.

We are also considering requests for classes at this time.

2012-13 costs
Jr./Sr. High School (grades 6-12)

$10 per person (administrative and gradebook set-up)
$10 per class per student (Reserves space and provides funds to purchase initial teacher/class materials.)

Material fees

Material fees cover copying costs, (ink, paper etc.) as well as incidentals for each class.

Material fees are due in August before classes begin. Material fees will be determined by June 30.

Registration begins soon. Final decision on class offerings will be determined by June 30, based on number of students enrolled. Book information will be given at that time. Please do not purchase book before you are notified that the class minimums are met. All registration fees are non-refundable except in the event that minimum registration is not met or class exceeds maximum.

Parents are responsible for text books or cost of virtual curriculum, initial material fee, and may be asked to provide miscellaneous supplies or make a small donation to cover additional costs if necessary throughout the year.


To offer this type of diversified program, we ask that all parents find a place to serve, whether it be teaching, assisting, grading papers, record keeping, setting up, tearing down, cleaning up, organizing parties, arranging field trips – or ??? The co-op will only function with your cooperation, which allows us to keep the costs down. ( All teaching materials will be supplied.)

This is a ministry of Gateway Christian Fellowship and we do not want to turn anyone away due to finances. Individual and family plans may be arranged if you are in financial need.
